It matters where you purchase your hair care products.
As stylists, we usually aren't getting rich off of the sale of hair products. We spend most of our careers educating ourselves to be the best stylist possible. We're lucky to make a few dollars off of each product we sell (and yes, that adds up), but our number one goal as stylists is the integrity of your hair. We want you to look good not just when you walk out of the salon, but also until your next your appt. Here are a few things to consider before purchasing your products. Protect your investment. If you just dropped a few hundred on your hair, don't skip the at-home care. You could literally wash your color down the sink with OTC hair products. I always suggest starting with a professional shampoo, conditioner and heat protectant. You can grow your library of products over time, but these are key for long lasting color. Quality control and guarantee. I walk into drug stores all the time and see the same products I have on my shelves being sold for more than what I sell them for. It breaks my heart because most consumers don't even know that these likely are old/expired products or they may not be the product at all. Purchasing from your stylist will ensure high quality professional products that we guarantee. I don't think the grocery store cares if your color is faded or if plastic is building up in your hair, but I promise your stylist does. Your stylist knows what's best for you. If you've been loyal to your stylist, they know your hair history, texture, density and much more. They have records of what you've purchased in the past and have your hair and scalp integrity in mind when recommending products. You're supporting our dream. When you purchase products directly from your stylist, you're doing so much more than helping us make a few extra bucks. Most brands provide more education to our salon the more product we order. A lot of salons also use the profit from product sales to provide continuing education to their team. This means we're able to take more classes, stay up to date on latest trends, and always provide you with the best service possible. Please take these few things into consideration the next time you go to make a haircare purchase, because where you purchase your haircare products matters.

Clubhouse is an audio-only social media app where members can participate in different chat rooms (no, they’re not exactly like those AIM chatrooms). Think of it as an interactive podcast, where you have the ability to chat with the hosts in real time, but nothing is recorded. 🎙
So you’re only part of the conversation (or listening in on it) if you’re there live. You read that right. They disappear once the chat has finished. This creates real, genuine conversations and connection. The best part… there’s no perfection to it. Your hair doesn’t have to be styled, your makeup doesn’t have to be perfect, and you certainly don’t have to be dressed to impress… you can be listening in while doing just about anything. Clubhouse is like sitting at the table with a bunch of like-minded people. On the hair side of Clubhouse, I’m hearing so much talk about how to elevate the industry. I’ve been there for less than a month and I’ve already made some amazing new friends. And that’s what it’s all about. Raw conversations and genuine connection. So let’s break down the basic clubhouse terminology. ✨ Room - It’s like a conference room where the conversations take place! Each room has a topic. Any clubhouse member can start or schedule their own room, and you can choose whether it’s a private or public room. ✨ Moderator - The host/creator of the room. They’re the ones who can invite anyone in audience up to the stage to speak or mute them. Moderators can also ping (invite/notify) their followers and make others in the room a moderator. Having multiple moderators is great if you have a large room and you’re trying to manage the audience while speaking. ✨ Audience - This is everyone else in the room. Simply put, they’re the listeners. As a member of the audience, you have the ability to raise your hand. This will alert the moderator(s) that you want to speak on stage. Most who are ready to step on stage either have a question for the panel or they have value they want to share with the room. If you decide you just want to listen in, it’s nice because you can still listen while doing other things (similar to a phone call). 🎉 Party Popper - If you notice a party popper next to someone’s name, it means they’re new to the app. It’s a great time to recognize these new users and make them feel welcome in your room. 🤍 How the heck do I get on the app? I’m sure you’ve heard that Clubhouse is invite only. When you join, you’ll be given an invite to send to a friend. Clubhouse is currently in beta testing, so it’s only available on iOS (sorry, Android users). The good news is, if you have an iPad or an old iPhone laying around, you can use them with WiFi and join in on the fun! You can earn more invites on the app just by using it! The good news is, Clubhouse is growing like wildfire and it shouldn’t be too hard to get an invite at this point. Don’t be afraid to ask your friends. 🤍 What do I do once I’m in? I highly recommend adding a picture of your face and editing your bio so people know who you are. You get a lot more space for your bio than you do on most other social media platforms, so don’t be afraid to dig a little deeper. You can also link your Instagram and Twitter accounts to your profile. Other than that, start following your friends, get in a few rooms and start creating those connections! You’ll learn the rest along the way. I can’t wait to see you in there 🖤 You can find me on clubhouse @angiemamone 👋🏻 If you’re already there, drop your username in the comments so I can follow you🤍 If you want to learn more about Clubhouse and how you can utilize this platform to grow your business, click here to get my Clubhouse for Hairdressers eBook |
